Softball Game Preview: Baboquivari Warriors vs. St. David Tigers

Baboquivari is 0-10 against St. David since March of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Baboquivari turned things around against San Simon on Wednesday. They blew past the Longhorns 30-20. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, St. David had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bearcats as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

St. David got a massive performance out of Emma Hart, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Camber Jacquez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

St. David was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

St. David pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Baboquivari, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.
