If Sarasota beats Middleton with three runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Sarasota beat South Fort Myers on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1.

Blake Norman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sarasota's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Boyd, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Middleton came up short against Clearwater on Thursday, falling 8-1.

Sarasota's victory bumped their record up to 10-3-1. As for Middleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
