Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. North Lenoir Hawks
South Lenoir is 2-8 against North Lenoir since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Lenoir Blue Devils will be playing at home against the North Lenoir Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (South Lenoir is ranked 374th, while North Lenoir is ranked 399th).
South Lenoir's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 52-28 defeat to East Duplin might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss South Lenoir has suffered since December 4, 2023.
Despite their defeat, South Lenoir saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexus Haddock, who scored ten points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Gracie Tyndall, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Lenoir's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 40-33 victory over James Kenan.
South Lenoir has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for North Lenoir, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-9.
