Baseball Game Preview: Proctor Raiders vs. New Hartford Spartans

Proctor has gone 8-2 against New Hartford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Proctor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Proctor came out on top against Oneida on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run third inning. The Raiders blew past the Express 20-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Express recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

JAADIEL ROMERO made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Proctor is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. ROMERO was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, RADHAMES EMANIEL was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael OLIVADOTI, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Hartford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Central Square on Saturday.

New Hartford's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Proctor, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
