Andrean is a perfect 4-0 against Whiting since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Fighting 59ers will challenge the Oilers at 5:00 p.m. Whiting took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Andrean, who comes in off a win.
Andrean is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Boone Grove with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Fighting 59ers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Sadie Drousias spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maddy McCoy was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Voliva, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Andrean hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Whiting's offense. They came up short against Westville on Friday, falling 10-0. The Oilers haven't had much luck with the Blackhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Andrean is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Whiting, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Whiting's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Andrean has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. It's a different story for Whiting, though, as they've only averaged .317. Will they be able to contain Andrean's hitters?
Everything went Andrean's way against Whiting in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Andrean made off with an 18-0 victory. Do the Fighting 59ers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oilers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
