Baseball Recap: Arroyo Grande Find Success

The Arroyo Grande Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Kingsburg Vikings on Saturday.

Lucas Durham tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Arroyo Grande is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Bournonville, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Corner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Arroyo Grande now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Kingsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Arroyo Grande will be playing at home against Cabrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arroyo Grande is facing Cabrillo at the right time seeing as Cabrillo is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Kingsburg, they will venture away from home to take on Immanuel at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Kingsburg's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
