Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Township Rangers vs. Amanda-Clearcreek Aces

The Hamilton Township Rangers will challenge the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hamilton Township has three straight victories, Amanda-Clearcreek has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Hamilton Township will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Bloom-Carroll, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Hamilton Township secured a 66-62 W over Bloom-Carroll on Tuesday. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hamilton Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jovon McBride, who went 6 of 13 en route to 25 points. McBride's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadan Ahr, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Amanda-Clearcreek lost to Bloom-Carroll at home by a 63-48 margin on Thursday.

Amanda-Clearcreek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hamilton Township, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Everything came up roses for Hamilton Township against Amanda-Clearcreek in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-25 victory.
