Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. La Salle Lancers

The Archbishop McNicholas Rockets will square off against the La Salle Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Archbishop McNicholas 3.8, La Salle 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Archbishop McNicholas headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Archbishop Alter let them put that streak behind them. The Rockets were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Knights on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rockets have posted against the Knights since April 27, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Connor Powderly, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last eight games.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for La Salle's offense. They fell just short of St. Xavier by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Lancers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Archbishop McNicholas, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
