Baseball Recap: Clarkston Comes Up Short

Clarkston extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-12-1 in the process. They fell 5-2 to the Rogers Pirates. The Bantams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Clarkston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Cometto, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Rogers, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Rogers' side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Proctor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Clarkston nor Rogers have any future games scheduled.
