Volleyball Recap: Mariyah Gonzalez and Morgan Jones Secure Win for Sprayberry

Sprayberry posted their closest win since August 24, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the North Murray Mountaineers.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Sprayberry got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-27, 15-7.

Sprayberry was led to victory by Morgan Jones and Mariyah Gonzalez. Jones had nine digs and one assist, while Gonzalez had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Gonzalez a new career-high.

The win got Sprayberry back to even at 1-1. As for North Murray, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Sprayberry will take on Pebblebrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Murray, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gordon Lee at 5:00 p.m.
