Preview: L'Anse Purple Hornets vs. Ontonagon Gladiators
L'Anse has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Ontonagon Gladiators at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
L'Anse posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. Everything went their way against Johnston as L'Anse made off with a 68-42 victory.
Meanwhile, Ontonagon's six-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They took down Dollar Bay 42-27. The win was just what Ontonagon needed coming off of a 78-29 defeat in their prior match.
L'Anse's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Ontonagon, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
L'Anse suffered a grim 55-34 defeat to Ontonagon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can L'Anse avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
