It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but MacArthur had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 58-51 victory over the Mt. Zion Braves. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th in Illinois, while the Braves are ranked 271st in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead MacArthur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Casey Jackson, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points. What's more, Jackson also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Zahnya Gibbs was another key player, putting up 13 points.

MacArthur is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. Mt. Zion has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-21 record this season.

As of now, neither MacArthur nor Mt. Zion have any future games scheduled.
