Football Recap: Azusa Takes a Loss

Azusa was the 12-6 winner over Sierra Vista when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Aztecs took a 24-7 bruising from the Dons on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Dons are ranked 197th).

Azusa has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4-1 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Azusa is set to take on their familiar foe Baldwin Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sierra Vista will face off against rival Nogales at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
