Baseball Recap: Andalusia's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Andalusia blew Opp out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Opp got their revenge. The Andalusia Bulldogs fell just short of the Opp Bobcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since February 29, 2024.

Andalusia got a good showing from Charlie Walsh, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Walsh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Andalusia saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Dalton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Andalusia's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Opp, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
