Sacred Heart proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the La Monte Vikings 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gremlins have posted since October 2nd.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Sacred Heart got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-16, 20-25, 15-8.
Addison Figge paced Sacred Heart's offense, picking up 12 kills. Figge got some help from Ava Judd and her 26 assists. Sophie Hesse controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Sacred Heart's win bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for La Monte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8-1.
