Basketball Recap: Bernalillo Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Bernalillo won the last time they faced Miyamura, and Michael Pacheco did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bernalillo Spartans took down the Miyamura Patriots 66-49 on Tuesday thanks in part to Pacheco, who posted 14 points along with seven steals and five assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Uriel Castro was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and five steals. He is becoming a predictor of Bernalillo's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Bernalillo's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Miyamura, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bernalillo will take on Pecos in a tournament on Thursday. Bernalillo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season. As for Miyamura, they will take on Cleveland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
