Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pompano Beach had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it six. They fell 79-69 to the Northeast Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tornadoes of the 76-46 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Northeast's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Wood Luky Dubreius produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 40 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game. Wayne Beckford Jr. was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.

Coming up, Pompano Beach will be home for the holidays to greet Hallandale at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Tornadoes will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 78.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northeast, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-39 loss against Lake Worth on the 11th.
