Softball Recap: Alliance Takes a Loss

Alliance came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Salem Quakers by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aviators of the 9-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lily White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Alliance now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Salem, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Alliance wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-4 defeat against Carrollton on the 10th. As for Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-3 victory against Minerva on the 10th.
