Basketball Recap: Dexter Takes a Loss

Dexter lost against Silver last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Demons took a 57-39 bruising from the Fighting Colts. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Dexter lost, don't look at Cj Granados. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards. The Demons are 2-1 when Granados posts 20 or more points, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Matthias Salas, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Dexter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Silver, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Dexter will be home for the holidays to greet Hagerman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silver, they will head out to face off against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Colts will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
