Baseball Game Preview: Yelm Tornados vs. Spanaway Lake Sentinels

For the second straight game, Yelm will face off against Spanaway Lake. The Tornados will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Yelm gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Spanaway Lake 7-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tornados in their matchups with the Sentinels: they've now won five in a row.

Jonah Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Wesley Thompson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Robison, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Spanaway Lake is on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12. As for Yelm, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
