NEPSAC, high school hockey players in 2017 NHL Draft

Center Casey Middelstadt of Eden Prairie (Minn.) goes to the Buffalo Sabres in the first round (No. 8 overall). New Sabres coach Phil Housley was selected in the first round of the 1982 draft (6th overall) out of South St. Paul (Minn.).

NEPSAC and high school hockey players selected in the 2017 NHL Draft on Friday June 23 (1st Round) and Saturday June 24 (Rounds 2-7) at United Center in Chicago. Profiles and pictures of some of the picks, as well as other top prep candidates, below. Players born between Jan.1, 1997, and Sept. 15, 1999, were the primary focus of this year's draft.
