Volleyball Game Preview: Woodland Wolfpack vs. Eagle's Landing Eagles

Woodland hasn't had much luck against Eagle's Landing recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wolfpack will face off against the Eagles at 8:30 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Woodland was able to grind out a solid win over Wilson Academy, taking the game 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Woodland took both sets by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Eagle's Landing entered their tilt with Holy Innocents Episcopal on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Golden Bears.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-99) Eagle's Landing actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 17-25, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12.

Woodland's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Eagle's Landing, their win bumped their record up to 28-10.

Woodland came up short against Eagle's Landing when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 2-0. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
