Basketball Game Preview: Malcolm Clippers vs. Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays

The Malcolm Clippers will take on the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Malcolm was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Yutan. While the Clippers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chieftains 20-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Elkhorn 61-33. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Antlers are ranked 73rd).

Malcolm's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Malcolm was able to grind out a solid win over Ashland-Greenwood when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 51-42. Will Malcolm repeat their success, or does Ashland-Greenwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
