Volleyball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

Sidney suffered their biggest loss since September 25th on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Ogallala Indians. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Ogallala scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

Reagan Nesbitt paced Sidney's offense, picking up six kills. Nesbitt got some help from Ava Witte and her 16 assists. Finally, Jordynn Schnell kept Sidney's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Player #1 had an outrageously good game for Ogallala as she had 21 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Player #1 a new career-high.

Sidney's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Ogallala, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Sidney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Chadron on the 14th. As for Ogallala, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against St. Patrick's on the 14th.
