Soccer Recap: Newport vs. Freeman
Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Freeman Scotties, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Scotties are ranked 24th).
Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Freeman, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport will venture away from home to face off against Davenport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freeman, they will head out to challenge Northwest Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
