It was a good run, but  Calloway County unfortunately witnessed the end of their  13-game winning streak on Saturday. They took  a  62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taylor County Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the  59-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in December of 2022.
 Calloway County lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Jaidan Koch, who  went 8 of 18  en route to 26  points along with seven  boards and five  assists. The  contest was  Koch's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Sayler Lowe, who  went 7 for 17  on her way to 15 points and eight  rebounds.
Calloway County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Taylor County, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
 Calloway County will challenge Lyon County at 1:30  p.m.  on Monday. Calloway County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5  points per game  this season. As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Green County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
