            Softball Recap: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Porter Ridge Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            Sun Valley hadn't done well against Porter Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Spartans skirted past the Pirates  8-6. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

 Terran Ellis (2028) was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Mariah Garcia (2026) was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Sun Valley was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Sun Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Porter Ridge, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record  this season.
As of now, neither Sun Valley nor Porter Ridge have any future games scheduled.
