Basketball Recap: New Hope Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Show-Me Christian

New Hope Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Show-Me Christian Angels. The loss leaves the Phoenix without a win on the season.

Despite the loss, New Hope Christian still got an impressive performance from Peter Dabbs, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Sam Dabbs, who earned 11 points.

Show-Me Christian was led to victory by Drew Puckett and Tony Jones. Puckett went 13 for 19 on his way to 29 points, while Jones went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points along with five assists and five boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Puckett has scored at least a third of Show-Me Christian's points.

New Hope Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Show-Me Christian, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

New Hope Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-28 loss against Cornerstone Family on the 14th. As for Show-Me Christian, they will square off against Bethel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
