Baseball Recap: Briggsdale Triumphs

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Monday. Briggsdale walked away with a 19-14 victory over Front Range Baptist. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Briggsdale also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Scot Francis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Briggsdale's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2-1 when he doesn't). Francis was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jeremiah Sparks was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Cash Haun, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Briggsdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Briggsdale back to even at 3-3-1. As for Front Range Baptist, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Briggsdale will face off against Peetz at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Front Range Baptist, they will host Weldon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
