Western Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies 17-2. Considering the Fighting Lancers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kayden Quiroz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Aryana Munoz was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Abby Wibbens was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
