Game recap: Mansfield High School Football Team wins against Duxbury

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Duxbury (Mass.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 9 in Massachusetts, but was stunned by Mansfield (Mass.), 23-20. Mansfield was ranked at No. 24 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Massachusetts coming into the week.

The Hornets were up 16-6 at the half after taking the lead on a Kevin Makie touchdown run in the second quarter.

Mansfield saw its 10-point halftime lead fall to three entering the fourth.

MHS was ahead by as much as 10 before the Dragons pulled closer.



Jon Hurvitz played well for Duxbury. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 22 on the year.

The Hornets' most effective player was Kyle Wisnieski. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.

The win was a nice bounce back for Mansfield, which lost to Foxborough last week, 27-21. The loss comes after Duxbury defeated Marshfield 35-14 last week.
