Baseball Game Preview: Blaine Borderites vs. Meridian Trojans

The Blaine Borderites will head out on the road to square off against the Meridian Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blaine's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Meridian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Blaine and Ferndale, and Ferndale kept the tradition alive. Blaine fell 4-0 to Ferndale on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Borderites were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Meridian didn't have quite enough to beat Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday and fell 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Trojans have suffered against the Cubs since April 4, 2017.

Meridian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Blaine, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Blaine couldn't quite get it done against Meridian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Blaine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
