Basketball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Fountain Valley Danes, falling 61-39. The Huskies were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Florence still got an impressive performance from Jaret Lozano, who posted 22 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Lozano a new career-high in points. Marcus Robinson also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Jaden Lopez-Hardy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 17 rebounds for Fountain Valley. Lopez-Hardy has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Nick Prantl was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

Florence has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. The victory was the seventh in a row for Fountain Valley, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
