Basketball Recap: Jantz Botos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamlin over Seymour

Hamlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 51-30 to the Seymour Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Pied Pipers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1062nd, while the Panthers are ranked 278th).

Several Pied Pipers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jantz Botos, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Gruben, who had six points.

Hamlin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Hamlin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-37 loss against Seymour on the 28th. As for Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-56 victory against Hale Center on the 27th.
