Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tipton). They put the hurt on the Elwood Panthers with a sharp 15-3 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Blue Devils with their most commanding win of the season.

Tipton got a massive performance out of Kellen Hussong, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The Blue Devils are 4-2 when Hussong posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Caleb Hare was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Tipton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tipton pushed their record up to 7-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Elwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 20 of their last 21 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-25 record this season.

Tipton and Elwood are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Blue Devils will challenge Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elwood, they will square off against Lapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season.
