Basketball Recap: Michael Gooden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton over Jordan

Hamilton and Jordan squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hamilton had to settle for second. They lost 68-48 to the Jordan Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-34 back in January.

Hamilton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Gooden, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 boards. What's more, Gooden posted four blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Ty Mitchell was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and seven assists.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Jordan, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jordan, they will face off against Narbonne at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jordan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Narbonne likes a good challenge.
