Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is North Providence's Fourth in Last Five Outings

If Burrillville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played North Providence, they should've done a better job of containing Elyse Brassard. The North Providence Cougars walked away with a 44-35 victory over the Burrillville Broncos on Tuesday thanks in part to Brassard, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Riddhi Mistry, who scored six points in addition to seven steals and five boards. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

North Providence has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Burrillville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

North Providence will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Pleasant at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in North Providence's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Mt. Pleasant has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Burrillville has already played their next game (against Prout), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
