Dynamic duo of Stella Heapy and Sienna Houghtelling lead Medicine Valley to victory

Recap: Medicine Valley Raiders vs. Brady Eagles

The Medicine Valley Raiders won the last time they faced the Brady Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Medicine Valley came out on top against Brady by a score of 42-31.

Leading Medicine Valley to victory were Stella Heapy and Sienna Houghtelling. Heapy scored 14 points along with four steals, while Houghtelling scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. Heapy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Remmi Stout was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Despite the loss, Brady saw an underclassman step up: Ella Lydic scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Lydic pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia McGown, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Medicine Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Brady, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Medicine Valley will take on Wauneta-Palisade at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Medicine Valley is ranked 183rd, while Wauneta-Palisade is ranked 195th). Brady does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
