Baseball Game Preview: Redlands Terriers vs. Citrus Valley Blackhawks

For the second straight game, Redlands will face off against Citrus Valley. The Terriers will square off against the Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Redlands has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Citrus Valley will arrive with three straight wins.

Redlands came up short against Citrus Valley on Tuesday, falling 13-3.

For Citrus Valley's part, Nolan Tornberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Tornberg also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Blackhawks are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole West, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Adrian Abarca was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Redlands' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Citrus Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
