The New Castle Trojans will face off against the Lawrence Central Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Castle comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

New Castle came up short against Pendleton Heights on Friday, falling 17-2.

New Castle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hancock, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Lawrence Central not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Lebanon. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Jonathon Gates Jr. tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Kaleb Burns was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomon Rashid, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Lawrence Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
