Preview: Carthage Bulldogs vs. Center Roughriders

The Carthage Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Center Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Carthage is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Last Friday, Carthage was the victim of a rough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Kilgore.

In what's become a running theme this season, Center gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Kilgore with a sharp 61-37 win. Winning may never get old, but Center sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tim Johnson, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmarion (Ja) Smith, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Carthage has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Carthage was dealt a bruising 81-33 defeat at the hands of Center in their previous matchup back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Carthage was down 51-18.
