Football Recap: College Station's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games + How To Watch

College Station and Port Arthur Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but College Station had to settle for second. They came up short against the Titans, falling 45-24. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Titans are ranked 32nd).

Loss or not, College Station got some senior leadership from Keaton Johnson and Zak Cosser. Johnson gained 369 total yards and a touchdown, while Cosser picked up 112 receiving yards and two TDs. Johnson showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards.

While College Station came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Port Arthur Memorial: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Issaac Kirkpatrick and Kashton Adams, who each logged one passes deflected. College Station hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.57 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
