Horizon Science Academy suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Horizon Science Academy Hawks vs. Licking Valley Panthers

The Horizon Science Academy Hawks suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Licking Valley by a score of 65-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (61), Horizon Science Academy still had to take the loss.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khiryn Mcneal, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcneal posted eight or more assists. Michael Amusan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.

Horizon Science Academy bumped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Licking Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon Science Academy on the road again on Monday and play against Cristo Rey at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Cristo Rey has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Licking Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Northridge at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
