Basketball Game Preview: Benton Rangers vs. Williamsville Bullets

Having just played yesterday, the Benton Rangers will jump right back in to play the Williamsville Bullets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Benton is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Frankfort: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Benton blew Frankfort out of the water with a 77-23 final score. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Williamsville proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 52-43 victory over the Bluejays. Given the Bullets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Bluejays are ranked 173rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Williamsville pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Benton, their record now sits at 24-3.
