Softball Recap: Andrean Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Andrean walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Fighting 59ers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Sadie Drousias spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayci Alba, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanie Doukas, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Andrean's record is now 20-7. As for Alexandria-Monroe, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 20-2 record.

As of now, neither Andrean nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
