The Timberlake Tigers will head out to face off against the Lakeland Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Timberlake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Timberlake's win against St. Maries wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Lumberjacks 4-2.

Shae Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Jesi Kitchin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was her first of the season.
13 must be Lakeland's lucky number: they beat Sandpoint with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Kiersten Drake was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Raygen Dutton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Lakeland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 4-2 when they post two or more home runs.
Timberlake pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Timberlake hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lakeland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Timberlake couldn't quite finish off Lakeland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
