Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hillcrest's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They managed a 72-67 victory over the J.L. Mann Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 83-70 back in December of 2024.

J.L. Mann's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Johnson, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Andrew Scales, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Hillcrest's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for J.L. Mann, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Hillcrest will welcome Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest is facing Easley at the right time seeing as Easley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. J.L. Mann has already played their next match (against Mauldin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
