Volleyball Game Preview: Our Lady Academy Crescents vs. St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints

Our Lady Academy is 7-1 against St. Andrew's Episcopal since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Crescents will take on the Saints. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Our Lady Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Jefferson County 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crescents.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Our Lady Academy took every set by at least 19 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-1, 25-6, 25-3.

Among those leading the charge was Ashley Hall, who had eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Henley, who had eight aces and one block.

McLaurin typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday St. Andrew's Episcopal proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant St. Andrew's Episcopal was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-9, 25-13.

St. Andrew's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Our Lady Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 37-4.

Everything went Our Lady Academy's way against St. Andrew's Episcopal when the teams last played back in October of 2022, as Our Lady Academy made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crescents since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
