Basketball Recap: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Amador Buffaloes
The Argonaut Mustangs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to Amador for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-37 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-15.
Argonaut's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JJ Lungren, who scored 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lungren has scored all season. Ryan Duran was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two steals.
Argonaut's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16. As for Amador, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.
Argonaut will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Amador, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bullfrogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
