Softball Recap: Modesto Panthers vs. Enochs Eagles
Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Enochs Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Modesto of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.
Modesto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sonia Paddilla, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
On Enochs' side, Natalie Camarena was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Camarena has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Camarena was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.
Modesto's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Enochs, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8-1.
